Currency Regulations

When entering the country you can bring in any amount of Thai Baht or other currencies.
However, when taking out cash or traveler's checks the allowance is the equivalent value of the amount you brought into the country.
If you want to take out a larger amount of money, you must prove that you have personally brought the money into the country.
Therefore it is advisable to declare on arrival an amount of more than US$ 10,000.
You are allowed to take up to 50,000 Baht per person out of the country. And if you travel to a neighboring country such as Malaysia you can take in up to 100,000 Baht.
During your departure at the airport in Bangkok you can exchange remaining cash in other currencies.
