Besides the national airline Thai Airways, which has worldwide a very good reputation and offers excellent service, Bangkok Airlines offers domestic flights and flights to Hongkong, Singapore, Yangon and Male. Furthermore there are several low-cost airlines such as Air Asia, Nok Air and One-Two-Go challenging the market share of the conventional airlines with low fares.

Airport Tax
Domestic airport departure tax: 100 Baht
International airport departure tax: 700 Baht
The tax is always included in the fare for the air ticket.
Thai Airways International (TG) (with online booking)
Thai Airways International (TG) or short: Thai Airways, is the national carrier for the Kingdom of Thailand. Thai Airways route network connects many places in the country and it is directed to Don Muang Airport in Bangkok. Only flights to Phuket are operated from the international airport Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
There are several daily flights to larger cities; to smaller cities and towns only one flight per day or only several per week. Fully booked flights can be expected only during popular public holidays such as Songkran (Thai New Year), Chinese New Year and Loy Krathong.
The domestic schedule changes twice a year, however the changes are insignificant.
All international flights are operated from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok (BKK) as well as flights to Yangon, Vientiane, Hanoi, Saigon, Phnom Penh, Singapore, Penang and Kunming.
Thai Airways offers an inexpensive shuttle bus service (40 to 80 Baht) from most of its city offices to the airports, which are usually quite far from the city center.
The following types of airplanes are used by Thai Airways:
Airbus A-300/A-330/3340, Boeing 737, Boeing 747, Boeing 777.
A small fee is payable for ticket changes. When arriving delayed in Bangkok, the connecting flight can be changed for a later flight without any problems. However, this does not refer to special fares.

Air Pass
Thai Airways offers the air pass “Discover Thailand”.
